Beliefs and Organization

We wear no other name than Christ’s and are known simply as Christians. The Knightsville church of Christ is not a social club or agency, and therefore, the Lord’s money is not used to promote social functions in any way.  We are a “spiritual house” and a “pillar of the truth” (1 Peter 2:5; 1 Timothy 3:15).

We are governed in faith and conduct by the Bible alone. While recognizing and using the guiding principles of the Old Testament, we conform to the rules and patterns of the New Testament (Hebrews 1:1-2 ). We accept the Bible as being both inspired and infallible (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The instructions that God speaks to us through His Bible are the final truths.

Jesus Christ is the leader of the church, and we recognize that in our structure (Ephesians. 1:22).  Therefore, you will not find a board of directors, clergy, or other man-made positions in the church.  You will find that we follow the organization of Elders and Deacons as outlined in the New Testament in both (1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9).

Elders and Deacons

According to the guidelines laid out in 1 Timothy and Titus, our elders are Rich Arnold, Rob Dispennett, Tom Hathaway, and Steve Reynolds. Our deacons are Cory Hill and Andrew Russell.

Peacher

Hi, I am Rob Dispennett.  I have been the preacher here at Knightsville since December 2005.  Lana and I were married in 1992 and have four children ranging in age from 12 to 26.  I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Economics.  I had an insurance practice until beginning full-time ministry in 2000.  I love being in the ministry.  It is my great joy to help people develop their faith and express their love of Jesus through simple, humble obedience to Him.  While I enjoy preaching from the pulpit, my real love is teaching in a Bible class setting - especially when that Bible study is held in someone’s home.  I love Jesus and love being a servant to His people. I relish the opportunity to increase the faith of a believer in Jesus and assist them in their walk with Him.  I like to tell people that I am ready to serve them morning, noon, or night - and I mean it.  While I never see myself as “off-duty”, I do enjoy camping, boating, carpentry, and construction – especially when those activities take me to a place where I might get an opportunity to preach or lead a bible study!
